Our own K-1 teacher, Adriana Contreras, was recognized March 23 with a LatinoNet award for excellence and achievement in education. She was lauded for translating documents for S’cool Moves activities that help students focus in classrooms, being available and ready to help our Spanish-speaking parents and children to understand Morris environment, organizing and publishing the school yearbook, volunteering for El Día Del Niño (Day of the Children) activities, and her leadership as a minority representative for the California Teachers Association. She was also instrumental in the creation of Morris’ own immersion curriculum.
